PRESS RELEASE: SPIRIT OF STEPHANE, CHRISTIAN GARRICK QUINTET
Spirit Of Stephane was conceived by the award-winning British jazz violinist Christian Garrick as a tribute to the great French Maestro.
Swinging tunes such as Sweet Georgia Brown, I’m Comin Virginia and S’Wonderful are followed by meltingly beautiful ballads like My Serenade, Didn’t We and Chanson De Rue. The quintet recalls the celebrated Hot Club Quintet Of France with Django Reinhardt as well as the George Shearing or Alan Clare piano-bass-drums quartets.
Featuring Jez Cook on guitars, Andy Crowdy on double bass, Eddie Hession on accordion and Tom Hooper on feather drumsticks,this promises to be an unrivalled evening of outstanding musicianship.
