A quick history

About Evershot Parish Hall

Evershot Parish Council began building the village hall in 1919. The Women’s Institute, founded the year before, held their first meeting at the venue when the doors opened in 1921, and the building was held and operated by a Trust.

When war was declared in 1939, the hall was commandeered by the British Army who subsequently returned it after the war.

The Evershot Parish Hall charity was formed in 1963 by trust deed (and subsequently converted to a registered Charity in 1968), it’s goal to operate and maintain the hall for use by the local community into the future.

The hall has become a well-known and appreciated music venue, hosting many bands (due to its fantastic acoustics), and hosts other private and community social events.  It is available for hire and is entirely operated by a dedicated team of volunteers.

National Lottery Community Fund Grant

Thanks to a National Lottery Community Fund grant in 2022, we were able to conduct a full electrical rewire with modernised LED lighting and a new alarm system, professionally installed by Tristan G Murless at tgmelectrical.co.uk (Weymouth).  Many thanks to both for supporting our community events.
